Why Anne entered

I started this loneliness recovery chitter chatter chat club, outreach programme 4.5 years ago and nearly 15,000 new people have come to our 58 Chitter Chatter Clubs, seeking company, community and connection. Miracles happen everyday as people regain their voice, their metal health becomes more stable and they step up to manage their new community , allowing management to softly exit and start to build another new community. Our 20 volunteers and I have designation loneliness and today our business is supporting young adults 18 to 29 to 'stop scrolling and start smiling' in a similar structure but with board games/ creative clubs to find their inner creative, and grow into their new selves. Loneliness/social isolation is at the forefront of our minds and haunting young suicide statistics are driving us strongly forth to get young adults out and into connection. We are seeing a standard for council to see this gap in health services and once the 18/29 Unpixel Clubs are running like CCCs we will go into schools with a loneliness awareness, friendship making, social skills, body language exercises around a pantomime for ages 5 to 18. This will really empower and cover all age groups battling loneliness. Our surveys show 100% of guests would recommended CCCs, 73% visit their GP less, 84% have mental health and social mobility improvement. 74% state that they make plans and now succeed. Our LTCCCs is a CIC funded by donations. We are 100% volunteer led and no salaries are paid.
In Anne's own words

About Anne

I'm Anne, 64, Northern and very very friendly. I love living in the South and enjoy traveling and meeting people. I have a background on supporting drug and alcohol addicts clients, street homeless, and 16 to 18 Yr old, high support need children in care homes. Humour has always got me through every day and creating my next new adventure. I won't pay over £25 for a flight but have been away 53 times to some really funky destinations, mostly with myself, on the spin of a coin. Life is an adventure and I believe everyone has a cheeky, fun loving monkey on the inside and should let it out. Life is too short to be serious all the time and in times of Ai, connection is the best gift you can ever give yourself. I've had a lot of health problems throughout my health , been a single parent and like millions of other parents worldwide, am broken hearted to be named an estranged parent. Hence Chitter Chatter Clubs, Brew Crews and Unpixel Clubs. Self healing is a driving force for this loneliness recovery mission , and like our 20 volunteers kindness connects our hearts, and with lots of local financial support the Chitter Chatter Club family of loneliness support Clubs keeps growing.

About Loneliness Together Chitter Chatter Clubs

We are taking the loneliness epidemic

About Anne's team

Our incredible volunteers give their heart, time and kindness in everything thought, word and action. Empathy puts out of them and I do believe we have the dream team of volunteers.

The journey

I started Chat Cafe Cio in Feb 2022. It took 6 months to become a charity. Within weeks I was informed trustees wanted to concentrate on feeding the homeless not to helping loneliness victims. As a founder and employee I had no power. I restarted Chitter Chatter Clubs the same day I resigned. I started alone with 3 chat clubs, today I have 58. Nearly 15, 000 new people have to tired out of loneliness to come to one of our clubs and over 50, 000 cuppa have been poured. I cried the first time I bought topped with donations as I'd used my own money to start both projects. I cried when our stroke victim began talking again, when a cancer victim said I fell normal her. When one man said, CCC is my lifeline. When Bill commented on a survey form, I would not be here today if it hasn't been for Anne and CCCs.

Why your vote matters

This is my purpose in life. I don't have the skills but I try every day and get better. I'm healthier and wiser because of this project and so are 1000s. I'm still as mad as a box of frogs but saying that, a lot of our guests are too, because their inner monkeys are safe to come out now and smile, laugh and say hello to passers by, making the whole of Dorset a lot kinder and friendlier. Communities are safer and a quality of life for pensioners has replaced 1000s of lovely , sad, days for so so many. Health departments now refer guests so this project is freeing up hospital beds and hopefully prison wings.
