About this category
This category recognises an exceptional mentor who empowers others to grow. It celebrates the people who give their time, knowledge and encouragement, and whose guidance changes the direction of careers and businesses.
The winner will show a clear, lasting impact on the people they have mentored, a generous and thoughtful approach, and a commitment to developing others.
Eligibility
Open to UK-based individuals who mentor others formally or informally, in business or in their profession, with achievements within the last 12 to 24 months. Nominations from mentees are especially welcome. Self-nominations and third-party nominations are both welcome.
Judging criteria
- Entries will be judged on the impact on mentees' careers or businesses
- The quality and consistency of support given
- The mentor's approach
- Wider contribution to developing talent
Qualitative criteria
- Generosity with time and knowledge
- Ability to listen and challenge
- Encouragement and belief in others
- Opening doors and making introductions
- Long-term commitment
Metrics
- Number of people mentored
- Career progression of mentees
- Businesses started or grown with support
- Mentoring programmes led or supported
- Time given
Additional criteria
Submissions should include testimonials from mentees describing the difference the mentor has made.
